Tariff Relief for Builders: Canadian Lumber and Mexican Gypsum Exempted

In a significant development for the construction industry, the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) successfully advocated for the exemption of Canadian softwood lumber and Mexican gypsum from the latest round of U.S. tariffs. This move aims to alleviate rising construction costs and support housing affordability. Despite this exemption, Canadian lumber still faces existing duties totaling 14.5%. ​
